Alaska 1
This mixed-media bird feeder assemblage, crafted from found objects and collaged elements, explores themes of place, memory, and the unexpected juxtapositions that define our personal spaces.
Utilizing discarded materials such as salvaged wood, magazine cutouts (including a fragment of the Alaskan flag), and a small ceramic penguin, the work transforms the overlooked into a miniature world. It is a meditation on home, the stories embedded in everyday items, and the quiet, sometimes nonsensical, poetry of domestic life.
Inviting you to consider the narratives we construct from the fragments around us.

Part of my 'Birdhouse' Series - this is the 1st of 9.
DETAILS:
Stands about 11.5" high, 7.25" wide, and 7" deep
Has hinged top for loading bird seed
Hook on top for hanging - can also be freestanding
Can also be used inside as a decorative art piece.
CONDITION:
This is a used custom built birdhouse that I collaged my own design onto. It shows some signs of wear/age including scuffs, marks, and loose boards. The collage has been sealed with 3 layers of sealant but it's still not 100% weather resistant and will fade over time if left unprotected outside. Can also be used inside as a decorative art piece.
